High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko is again threatening Republika Srpska that it will suffer the consequences if the NARS does not respond to his two ultimatums.

Speaking on Sarajevo’s Facebook TV, Inzko reiterated that he gave two ultimatums to the NARS to revoke the recognitions of Radovan Karadzic, Momcilo Krajisnik and Biljana Plavsic, and to the deputies in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to adopt the Law on Prohibition of Genocide Denial by July 11 this year.

His threats met with harsh reactions in the Republika Srpska, from where he was told unanimously that the time for conditioning and using the Bonn powers was long gone.

On that occasion, the President of the NARS, Nedeljko Čubrilović, said that such statements by Inzko do not contribute to positive solutions in BiH, and the Parliament of Srpska will, if necessary, take a position and respond to that.

– The expectations and wishes of some politicians in BiH from the ranks of only one people, whose spokesman seems to be the High Representative, may be mere wishes, but not the obligation of the highest legislative body in the Republika Srpska – said Cubrilovic.

Representatives of the most influential parties in power and the opposition, SNSD and SDS, agree that such statements and actions of the High Representative have no basis in international law and are not in accordance with the mandate assigned to him.

The head of the Club of SNSD MPs in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, Igor Žunić, said that the High Representative, before making any decision, should read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, on which the entire modern world is based, especially its Articles 19 and 30, which determine that no one has the right to impose an opinion.

– That’s clear to Inzko, too. The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska has the right to make decisions as it wishes, democratically, by a majority vote, and it is the people of the Republika Srpska. The National Assembly will make decisions the way the people of Srpska want, because the deputies are the people of Srpska – said Žunić.

Davor Sesic, SDS MP in the NARS, says that “instead of protecting the Dayton Agreement, which guarantees the Republika Srpska, which has its own National Assembly that decides independently and passes laws, Inzko is threatening to reduce himself to a politician and not to improve his life.” and the work of people in Srpska and BiH “, RTRS reported.
