Christopher Pekny, 28, wanted to make the event special by announcing the gender of their child to be born with his wife, so he built a pyrotechnic structure. However, the device exploded and killed the man and injured his 27-year-old brother, Buzzfeed News reports.
New York police said the accident happened on Sunday, with firefighters investigating the case. No one has been charged yet.
In America, parties where prospective parents announce whether they are expecting a boy or a girl are very popular. Recently, however, several such parties have been poorly baked. Last September, such a party caused a fire in Southern California in which a firefighter was killed. Even then, a smoke bomb that exploded for the sake of the sight caused the disaster. In 2019, a 56-year-old grandparent died when his family fabricated a pipe bomb for a non-reporting party.
Pyrotechnic devices are used because the color of the exploding smoke bomb tells you whether the baby will be a boy or a girl: if a boy, blue smoke will rise, if a girl, then pink. Last year, another non-reporting party was included in the news, fortunately no one died then. A Dubai flu couple organized the party for the Bourgeois Caliph skyscraper, where they did not blow balloons filled with colored powder, but paid nearly $ 100,000 to project the big announcement on the 828-meter-high building formerly known as the Dubai Tower.
The cover image is an illustration, so it usually looks like a non-reporting blast.
