Possibly fans in stadium again at last round of Premier League | NOW

Supporters may be back in the stadium for matches in the English Premier League from May 17. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced this on Monday.

The final round of the Premier League is scheduled for the weekend of May 22 and 23. The FA Cup final will be at Wembley on May 15, so it will most likely be played without fans.

Johnson said nothing about the European Football Championship (11-June-11 July), which if it is up to UEFA, is still held in twelve countries. According to the current plans, the semi-finals and the final battle will be completed in London.

Johnson presented a roadmap on Monday setting out how the corona rules will be relaxed in England, which has been in lockdown since January 4.

Outdoor sports such as football, golf and tennis may also be resumed in a team at amateur level from 29 March. Gyms and swimming pools may open their doors again from April 12.

The British government will test a number of times with small groups of fans at sports matches in April. If those pilots are successful, a maximum of 10,000 fans, or a number equal to 25 percent of capacity, may be in stadiums from 17 May at the earliest.

At the start of the season, fans were allowed to attend certain Premier League matches.
