#Algeria : The Algerian Hirak has just given a scathing response to Abdelamadjid Tebboune who is seeking at all costs to be legitimized. The Algerian press is unanimous on the fact that the Hirak has just foiled all forecasts.
He then rushed to give his government a stab at his government, a facelift materialized by the replacement of the Minister of Energy, Abdelamadjid Attar, in charge of a declining oil rent, and his colleague from the Industry, Ferhat Aït Ali, who pays for his management of the issue of the revival of the automotive industry. Tebboune also sacked the ministers of Water Resources, Tourism, Environment and Public Works.

The explanation provided by the Algerian president to justify these departures was that the affected portfolios “did not meet the aspirations of the citizens”. So he clearly admits it; he wanted to appease the Algerian people on the eve of February 22. It is the same objective that is pursued when he releases several dozen prisoners of conscience from prison, including Rachid Nekkaz or Khaled Drareni, respectively, figure of the Hirak and symbol of freedom of expression.
But the response was scathing, yesterday February 22, although it was a Monday and not a Friday, a day when Algerians are much more willing to take to the streets. Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators came out in all the localities from Algiers to Kherrata, passing through Oran, Ouargla, Mostaghanem and so many other cities to shout the usual Hirak slogans and leaving new ones.
Thus El Watan relates “a furious crowd chanting:” Dawla madania, machi askaria “(For civil status, not for military rule),” L’istiqlal, l’istiqlal! ” (Independence), “Lebled bledna we endirou raïna” (This country is ours and we will do what we want) “. The reporter for the Algerian daily continues to list the strong messages of the demonstrators who are coming in increasing numbers. When some shouted “Ma djinache bech nehtaflou, djina bech terahlou” (We did not come to party, we came to chase you), others hammered: “Ma kan islami, ma kan ilmani, kayen issaba tesreq aÿnani ”(There is no Islamist or secularist, there is just a band of bandits who steal in broad daylight).
In the Algerian press on Tuesday, the prevailing feeling is that the Hirak is reborn from its ashes. “He thwarted the prognoses of the Algerian leaders who counted on modest demonstrations, this Monday February 22 with timid slogans”, as the news site writes Algeria Share.

For the site All about Algeria: “Some believed him dead, also carried away by the Covid-19 pandemic. He is the Hirak, this popular movement born on February 22, 2019 to release Bouteflika from power before spilling over into the demand for change radical political system in Algeria.
Finally, El Watan is also categorical: “In the minds of the demonstrators met yesterday, the return of the hirak is now registered, immediately meeting for next Friday.” Of course I will go out on Friday. It was time ” , launches Abdelkader, in his sixties, an executive in the telecoms, quoted by the newspaper. This citizen believes that “The power did what it wanted. The hirak must take over. It is the only space of expression that we have to say our word. “

One thing is certain, the coming Fridays are likely to be hot, despite the pandemic and the bans. Obviously, the regime which has already adopted a repressive legal arsenal, put the courts under orders, risks choosing to confront a people determined to put an end to it.
