It is possible that day records will be broken today and tomorrow, our weather forecaster Frank Duboccage knows. Today it remains dry with alternating broader clearings and sometimes cloud fields. The maximums fluctuate between 14 and 19 degrees, but the wind increases. The RMI reports this. It will remain very mild for the next few days, but it will cool down again at the weekend.
“The chances of a new day record are quite high,” says Duboccage. Today’s record is 16.2 degrees and our weather forecaster expects 17 degrees in Uccle. “We are going to get 17 or 18 degrees in many places in Flanders.”
In morning it gets even warmer, “a sun-drenched day”, Dubbocage knows. The daily record for tomorrow is currently still at 18.3 degrees. “But it could well become 19 degrees in Uccle and in the Kempen even 20 degrees locally,” Dubbocage predicts. “That will be the hottest day of this period.”
Despite the mild temperatures, the wind blows moderate to locally quite strong from the south to the southwest with winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour, especially in the western half of the country. Tonight and tonight it will be slightly cloudy. The minimums are between 5 degrees in the High Fens and 11 degrees in the center. The southerly wind is mostly moderate, over the southeast it is rather weak.
morning So, apart from some high cloud veils in the west, it gets sunny. It is again very mild for the time of the year with maximums of 14 degrees in the Ardennes heights to 18 or 19 degrees elsewhere. There is a moderate wind from the south.
Thursday the clouds are gradually increasing from the west, but it remains dry. On Thursday evening or night there is temporary (light) rain. The maxima are around 14 or 15 degrees in the center. At first the wind blows moderately from the south to the southwest, later decreasing and turning west.
Friday it gets dry and quite sunny with cumulus clouds in the interior. It becomes less mild with maximums around 10 degrees, with a predominantly light northwest wind. The weekend usually remains dry with a maximum of around 10 degrees.
In the weekend it will not get warmer than 12 degrees, but that is still mild for the end of February.
