Bisera Turković, who manages this department, appoints Bosniaks and staff from Sarajevo to all positions. And that is why it will be the central topic at the session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament at the beginning of next month.
Both Bosniak and Croat delegates and the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament voted for the initiative of the Serbian delegate Dušanka Majkić (SNSD) to discuss the situation in this Ministry and bring measures.
At present, of the seven senior positions in the MFA – minister, deputy minister, ministry secretary and four ministry assistants – there are four Bosniaks and two Croats. However, one Bosniak performs two assistant functions and another Bosniak staff is expected to be appointed.
– Serbs from Bisera cannot even approach the leading positions. It is already being said publicly in Sarajevo that Serbs should not even apply for competitions, because it will not pass – says the source of “Novosti”.
According to our interlocutor, the Serbian quota in the MFA has been formally fulfilled, since Serbs make up a third of the total of 520 employees. However, the problem is about the positions that are assigned to them:
– Serbs are in the positions of lower officials, couriers, drivers, while the leading civil servants in the MFA are primarily Bosniaks and they decide. The policy of Serbian representatives years ago is also to blame for this situation. Namely, the Serbian ministers did not make an effort to respect the quota of Serbs in leading positions.
DuÅ¡anka Majkić, a Serbian delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, says for “Novosti” that she expects a constructive discussion on the situation in the MFA. She points out that the cadres from Srpska who were at the head of the MFA used the ministerial position to travel the world, and not to put Serbs in the places that belong to us according to quotas.
