Earlier on February 21, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi participated in negotiations in Tehran and the two sides reached a temporary technical agreement within 3 months to meet the requirements of the Iranian parliament.
On February 22, the US expressed concern about this agreement, and called on Iran to fully comply with the nuclear program confirmation.
Iran has repeatedly denied information about wanting to build nuclear weapons. Khamenei said Iran would “act to the extent necessary” and could enrich uranium by up to 60%.
This is well above the 3.67% level in the 2015 agreement, but still below the 90% threshold needed to make an atom bomb. “Iran will not withdraw its nuclear issue and will strongly continue on the path it needs for today and tomorrow,” he stressed.
