The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following communication:
“Sift through the complaints statistics of sexual blackmail, received through social media belonging to the Directorate General of Internal Security Forces – Division of Public Relations, and through service” reached “on its website in the last two years (2019 and 2020), showing this Directorate General of a large and dangerous rise In the preparation of complaints of cases of intimidation and extortion of minors, it reported:
– / 11 / Complaints, in 2019, were distributed between 81.81% of female minors and / 18.19% of male minors.
– As for the year 2020, it reached 94 complaints, distributed between 80.08% of female minors and 19.2% of male minors.
That is, an increase of its percentage: / 754 /%.
Accordingly, it requests the Directorate General of Internal Security Forces from the parents, the initiative to the permanent monitoring of their children and make them aware of the dangers of the internet, in order to protect them from predators and bullies extortionists who can communicate with them through social networking sites. It also recommends that parents should inform their children not to accept invitations of unknown persons or accounts, and not to take photographs or photograph themselves on the video in an inappropriate way under any circumstance of others, so that they do not harm others.
