The word “tennis” supposedly comes from the French tenez – “here you take it.” By the way, even the ancient Greeks and Romans had a game in which the ball was beaten off with a hand or a stick. But the prototype of tennis is the game “jidoko” that existed in 13-14 centuries in Italy, France and England: in it, a ball jumping over a net was hit by a mitten, a wooden shield or a leather belt put on the hand. Jidoko was played in halls and open-air venues. At the beginning of the 16th century, rackets began to be used in the game. Leather balls, which were played in those days, were stuffed with sawdust, rags, and grass. They could only bounce off a hard surface. With the advent of rubber balls, playing on the grass became possible. In 1872, the first club of this game was founded on the lawn of the Limngton resort by the Portuguese Hoa Pereira, Frederic Haynes and Wellesley Tomkinson. But the British Army officer Walter Wingfield in 1873 developed a model court for playing “spherical”. In December of the same year, he published a brochure with the rules of the game “Spheristics, or Lawn Tennis”. And on February 23, 1874, Walter Wingfield received a patent for the court. With the development of the game, the conditions in which it took place changed, and the clothes of the players evolved a lot. It was only in the early 1930s that men were allowed to perform in short trousers and women in short skirts. At the same time, Saudi Arabia, which has been broadcasting from Wimbledon for more than 20 years, has not yet shown a single match with the participation of women. And the gallant French, nevertheless, did not allow the representatives of the beautiful half of humanity to compete in the French championship until 1928. Today tennis is an Olympic sport and the favorite game of many famous people.

The ECHR consisted of 46 judges holding a six-year mandate from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) is an international body whose jurisdiction extends to all member states of the Council of Europe (today there are 47 states) that have ratified the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, and includes all issues related to the interpretation and application Conventions, including interstate cases and individual complaints. The ECHR currently consists of 47 judges. They are elected for a nine-year term and cannot be re-elected. The activities of the High Court for the protection of the norms of the above Convention were highly appreciated by the world community. But, as one of the judges joked, the ECHR “became a victim of its own success” and after the historic changes that shook Eastern Europe at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, it began to experience difficulties in considering the growing stream of complaints. In this regard, at the end of 1998 the court had to be significantly reformed in order to radically increase “labor productivity”.
