The vaccine from Pfizer / Biontech should not only protect very effectively against Covid disease, but also almost 90 percent against infection with the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus. This news from Israel spread at lightning speed over the weekend, but the study on which the reports are based has not yet been officially published, let alone assessed by independent experts.

But if the rumored basic statement, namely that vaccination can actually also massively reduce infections, only approximately applies, this would be a reason for optimism. Because if you are infected much less often after the vaccination, the virus can also be transmitted or passed on much worse.
