THE Emma Coronel Aispuro, 31-year-old former beauty pageant winner, wife of Mexican drug lord JoaquinEl TsapoGuzman was arrested Monday at her international airport Washington, as she is suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, announced the US authorities.
Ms. Coronel Aispuro, who has dual Mexican and American citizenship, is expected to appear in federal court today. Her husband, co-founder Sinaloa cartel, long considered the most powerful drug lord in the world, was convicted July 2019 to serve a life sentence on USA for drug trafficking. He is serving his sentence in a maximum security prison at Colorado.
The 30-year-old El Chapo is accused of being involved in a network that flooded the US market with substances ranging from cocaine to marijuana, to heroin and methamphetamines.

According to a lawsuit filed against her, she also allegedly participated in the extremely complicated business to escape her husband in July 2015 from a Mexican prison, worthy of a Hollywood movie. To escape, “El Tsapo” dug a gallery of one and a half kilometers to his cell, equipped with rails and other means.
