On Monday, it became clear that the US Supreme Court rejects former President Donald Trump’s desire not to hand over his tax returns to the prosecution in New York.
In a statement posted on Twitter by Forbes reporter Andrew Solender, the former president strikes back fiercely. Among other things, he describes the investigation as “a continuation of the largest political witch hunt in our country’s history”.

Exactly what Trump is being investigated for is not yet clear.
However, this is a comprehensive financial investigation of Trump and his companies, writes NTB.
According to The New York Times, court documents indicate that the alleged offenses were linked to tax and insurance fraud.
– Russia, Russia, Russia
The memorandum is entitled “Statement on the ongoing political persecution of President Donald J. Trump”.
– Whether it’s the 32 million dollar scam Mueller, who has already investigated everything that is possible to investigate, “Russia, Russia, Russia”, or the two ridiculous Supreme Court trials inspired by Gale-Nancy (Pelosi, editor’s note) , where I was found NOT GUILTY. It never ends! writes the former president.
He further writes that the prosecution in New York for more than two years has gone through every single transaction that can be linked to him.
– The Supreme Court should never allow this fishing expedition to take place, but they have done so. This has never happened to a president before, it’s entirely inspired by the Democrats, in the Democratic-ruled New York city and state, completely controlled and dominated by a man often referred to as my enemy, Governor Andrew Cuomo.
– I mean I won
The Democrats, according to Trump, intend to “stop” everyone who voted for him in the election in November last year.
– A choice that many people, and experts, believe I won. I agree!
Trump’s allegations of electoral fraud have been widely refuted. Ellen Weintraub, chair of the Federal Election Commission, told CNN in November last year that there was currently no evidence that anything illegal had taken place in connection with the election.
This is not the first time Trump has resorted to these linguistic images. In 2019, he accused Democrats in the House of Representatives of embarking on a “fishing expedition in search of a criminal act”, according to the BBC.
He then referred to investigations the Justice Committee conducted in connection with accusations that Trump had opposed public authorities and the judiciary.
A federal appeals court gave the green light for the prosecution in New York to have access to the then president’s tax returns last year.
Trump’s lawyers appealed the case to prevent the public prosecutor in Manhattan from accessing tax documents that cover a period of eight years, writes NTB.
It’s the office of Attorney General Cy Vance Jr. which is responsible for the investigation.
Trump’s lawyers have characterized the petition as “political harassment”, arguing that it had to be rejected by virtue of being too extensive.
According to CNBC, the public prosecutor is also investigating alleged money laundering paid on behalf of the president to women who have allegedly claimed to have been involved with him. Trump rejects these claims.
