Georgian parliament approved new government
Irakli Garibashvili became the head of the government, whose candidacy was supported by the Georgian parliament.
In Georgia, the parliament approved the composition of the new government. Irakli Garibashvili became the Prime Minister. This was reported by Georgia News on Monday, February 22.
Garibashvili’s candidacy was supported by 89 deputies, while two parliamentarians opposed. To express confidence, 75 votes are required.
At the moment, the composition of the Georgian government has been updated by two ministers – Irakli Karseladze has become the Minister of Infrastructure instead of Maya Tskitishvili, and the Ministry of Defense, which until recently was headed by Garibashvili, will be headed by his deputy Juansher Burchuladze.
Let us remind you that earlier protesters were detained in Georgia for trying to pitch tents near the parliament. Supporters of opposition parties, as well as civil society activists, tried to pitch tents outside the parliament demanding early parliamentary elections.
