Former US President Donald Trump may announce his return to politics as a “candidate for the presidency in 2024,” Axios said, citing people close to the billionaire.
Trump’s advisers will meet with him at his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida this week to plan further political steps, according to the publication.
Trump’s allies say his first speech as a politician since leaving the presidency “will be a demonstration of force.”
In his address, Trump will point out that despite the loss of his Twitter account and the Oval Office, he is still responsible for what is happening in the country.
His advisers also argue that Trump’s power over the Republican Party is now deeper and more comprehensive than ever.
“Trump is practically the Republican Party,” said Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller.
