The mission of the World Health Organization (WHO) has named the next animals suspected of the rapid spread of the Covid-19 epidemic. Experts admit that the coronavirus could begin to spread massively among people due to the ferret badgers and rabbits sold on the market in Wuhan.
This is reported by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
Further investigation of the suppliers of these and other animals on the market is needed, according to members of the WHO mission that is investigating the origin of the coronavirus.
Experts also claim that some of these animals were brought to Wuhan from regions of China located near its borders with Southeast Asia, where the closest “relatives” of the coronavirus in bats were found.
China’s National Health Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to comment on the new information.
Earlier, Strana reported that WHO would ask China for data on the first known coronavirus patient.
