One year after the shock of the Covid, Milan finds the will to live


STORY – The abolition of the Fashion, Furniture and Design Weeks, which every year transformed Milan into a giant showroom crowded with the whole world, made it lose part of its soul.

On February 23, 2020, fashion week was not over yet as buyers fled Milan, and the Lombard capital was barricaded: two days earlier, a first case of Covid had been discovered in Italy, 60 kilometers to the south , in Codogno. Milan was the first metropolis in Europe to be hit by the virus.

A year later, ordinary life seems to return, piano piano. In San Ciro, supporters of Inter and AC Milan, more or less masked, came by the thousands to support the teams who compete and wear scarves and smoke bombs. The ultras are on the verge of confrontation, as before. At the same time on the banks of the canals, on this Sunday afternoon, the terraces are three quarters full of Milanese who came to take theappetizer traditional, early in the afternoon, before closing at 6 p.m. We forget that the pandemic is still raging.
