England, UK, has announced that it will lift all COVID-19 blockades by June, starting with all students attending school next month.
The British government has released a roadmap to lift all blockades by June 21 in four stages.
In the first phase, most students attend school on March 8th, and on the 29th, outdoor sports such as soccer, golf, and tennis, and outdoor gatherings for 2 families or less than 6 people are allowed.
Students from secondary school and above are tested for COVID-19 twice a week.
In the second phase, from April 12th, general non-essential shops, outdoor pubs, beauty salons, gyms, libraries, museums, and zoos will open.
From May 17th, restaurants, pubs, theaters, and hotels will be open, and performances and sporting events for less than 10,000 audiences will be available.
Meetings of up to 6 people are allowed indoors
On June 21st, the nightclub will reopen and all legal restrictions such as restrictions on the number of weddings will be removed.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, “I hope you are on a one-way road to freedom.”
The viral threat is “still significant,” but the BBC and SkyNews reported that the “British resolve” and the UK’s “unique” vaccination policy allowed for deregulation.
The UK has suggested a roadmap to lift the blockade as there are still 10,000 new confirmed cases a day, but the third blockade continued from January 6 of this year.
The focus on increasing the number of first-line vaccinations, and the number of vaccinators already exceeding 17 million, is one of the reasons for this decision.
The British government, however, has put safeguards in place, such as easing the containment step by step and checking four items before moving on to the next step.
Prime Minister Johnson said the date on the roadmap to lift the blockade has not been finalized. “It is based on the data, not the date,” he said.
The four check items are that the vaccination is smoothly performed, the vaccine is sufficiently effective in hospitalization and death, the infection rate is maintained so as not to burden the medical system, and the government’s risk assessment is “completely changed” due to the new mutant virus. I wonder if it wasn’t.
While there are still many confirmed cases, there are voices of concern over the release of the blockade.
The UK lifted the blockade last summer, but the number of confirmed cases began to increase significantly in the fall, and at the beginning of this year, nearly 70,000 people per day.
But Prime Minister Johnson said there is no way to “eradicate Corona 19,” and that regulations that undermine the economy, our minds, and our children’s opportunities cannot continue forever.
