ANGELA MERKEL WANTS TO GRADUALLY ELIMINATE RESTRICTIONS Open in three phases, increase the number of tests

German Chancellor Angela Merkel wants to implement a gradual plan to lift restrictions related to increased testing, said two participants in a meeting of the leadership of the Board of her Christian Democratic Union.

Merkel wants to reopen parts of the society in three phases, starting with expanding the number of personal contacts, then opening schools and vocational schools, and third – opening sports groups, restaurants and culture, the participants stated, Reuters reported.

Germany extended the restrictions until March 7 in order to suppress the spread of the corona virus, although primary schools and kindergartens started working in 10 German provinces today, and hair salons should reopen their doors next week.

The number of new daily infections has stagnated over the past week with a seven-day incidence rate hovering around 60 cases per 100,000 population.

The number of people infected with kovid-19 in the past 24 hours in Germany is 4,369, while 62 deaths were registered at the same time.
