It does not fit the human mind – A 23-year-old student was tortured and strangled by her ex-partner, while the authorities are accused of ignoring seven calls for help.
According to the Sun, the Vera Pekhteleva was found dead, strangled with an iron wire, after 3.5 hours of assault.
She had gone to her ex’s house to get her things after they separated. But 24-year-old Vladislav Kanyus locked the door of the apartment and “tortured” her for hours, throwing her against the wall and seriously injuring her head, according to the data from the shocking case.
Hearing her desperate cries for help, neighbors called police, but they did not respond and did not send police into the apartment because the case was a “family dispute”, according to the report.
Residents in Kemerovo, Siberia, heard the young woman trying to escape, but each time she pulled her back, they said. They tried to open the door and finally used a crowbar to enter the apartment in order to save the student.
However, she was found dead, strangled with an iron cord. According to the medical examiner, there were 56 injuries on the body of the unfortunate woman, some of them on her head.
Oksana Pekhteleva’s mother has filed a lawsuit against two police officers, who are being investigated for omissions in the tragic case.
