British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the timeline for lifting coronavirus restrictions in the country. It is reported by “BBC”.
Johnson said the first restrictions will be lifted on March 8. So, residents of the UK will be allowed to meet in the open air with one stranger, and schools will be opened.
On March 29, tennis courts, golf clubs will start operating in the country, and outdoor sports will be allowed. It will also be possible to gather for companies of six people or two families. On April 12, several more restrictions will be lifted: non-food stores and other establishments will open in the UK. In mid-May, the authorities expect to open pubs, restaurants, cinemas, hotels and allow a member of the same family to meet indoors.
The prime minister stressed that, perhaps, by June 21, the government will be able to lift all coronavirus restrictions. He added that if all the conditions are met, in the summer, sports events can be started in the country.
Earlier, the new head of the WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said that the UK should immediately donate its coronavirus vaccines to poor countries. She said the global economy risks losing $ 9 trillion if rich countries vaccinate half of their population by mid-year and poor countries do not vaccinate theirs.
