PARIS. The French music duo Daft Punk announced the end after 28 years. Pioneers of electronic dance music announced this today in a video called Epilogue. A spokesperson for the artists confirmed the report to AFP.
Daft Punk was founded by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Their debut album Homework from 1993 is considered a milestone in dance music. They got the production of the underground music scene on the music charts.
They became famous, among other things, thanks to the hits One More Time or Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. In 2013, they drew attention to themselves with the single Get Lucky, which featured American musicians Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.
In 2016, Daft Punk released two songs, Starboy and I Feel It Coming, which they composed with the Canadian singer The Weeknd. The first mentioned song immediately became a hit.
The duo rarely appeared in public without robotic helium, and in most hits they have electronically edited vocals. In the mentioned video Epilogue, both musicians have iconic costumes of robots, they say goodbye in the desert, after which one of them detonates. The recording comes from their 2008 film Electroma.
