One day before the suspension of the additional protocol to the nuclear agreement, the Iranian parliament will hold a closed meeting today, Monday, to discuss the results of the discussions between the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf, said that any inspections outside the safeguards agreement are forbidden and illegal, indicating that the implementation of the additional protocol will cease completely tomorrow.
Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf also indicated that “according to Article 7 of the law, any cooperation with the IAEA outside the safeguards agreement in the future requires the approval of Parliament, and Article 9 of the law guarantees its strict application.”
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed during a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Sunday, the importance of confronting US unilateral measures in the region.
Rouhani indicated that the only way to confront American unilateralism is through the union of countries that have been affected by illegal sanctions.
Hassan Rouhani stated that lifting the embargo on Iran is a legal requirement, and we will then return to fully implement our commitments in the nuclear agreement in accordance with the principle of “work in exchange for work.”
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced Iran’s support for Turkey in the face of US sanctions imposed on Ankara.
For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the importance of resorting to diplomatic solutions to lift the “unfair” US sanctions against Tehran.
Erdogan called for the need to invest in the positive atmosphere at the international level to lift the US sanctions.
And Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif previously considered that Europe’s concern about Iran’s program is hypocrisy and duplicity.
Mohammed Javad Zarif said: The Zionist entity is expanding the Dimona reactor, but we have not seen any concern from the European side.
Zarif indicated that there would be no possible negotiations on any changes to the nuclear deal.
Zarif pointed out that the cancellation of sanctions is still a dead letter and must become practical.
Zarif added: When the United States does not fulfill its obligations to lift sanctions, Iran is entitled to take steps in return.
