A total of 17 people were detained – in Alicante (10), Valencia (6) and Palma (1), of whom three were temporarily detained. The nationality of the detainees was not named. All of them, according to police, were part of a transnational criminal network with branches in Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Ukraine and Russia.
According to the investigation, the network received income from the sexual exploitation of women from Russia and Poland, as well as from drug trafficking and credit card fraud. Criminals provided women with fake medical certificates to cross borders during the pandemic.
The investigation began after a complaint filed by one of the victims with the Spanish National Police. During the special operation, two women were released.
As a result of eight searches in Alicante (5) and Valencia (3), two cars, 16 thousand euros in cash, 5 laptops, jewelry, fake identity cards and a number of documents were seized.
We will remind, after the Spanish police exposed the criminal network of Russians and detained 23 people on suspicion of money laundering, on Thursday, December 17, local publications published their names. The attackers planned to take control of key sectors of the country’s economy.
Let us remind you that in July the police detained people who kidnapped a 15-year-old girl and forced them into prostitution.
