The administration of the online dialogue service Clubhouse confirmed the leak of dialogues of some platform users to a third-party site. At the same time, the company assured that the hacker who gained access to user data has already been blocked, and additional measures are being taken to improve the security of the social network.
Bloomberg informs about it.
According to the newspaper, a hacker attack on the Clubhouse hit over the weekend. An unknown user was able to redirect audio from several “rooms” (the so-called group voice chats in the Clubhouse – Ed.) on a third-party site, shared a representative of the Rima Bakhnasi platform.
At the same time, she did not elaborate on the details of the cyberattack. Bakhnasi assured that the company had permanently blocked the attacker’s account and introduced new measures to prevent further leaks.
According to him, the main problem of communication on this platform is that people are confident in the privacy of their conversations in the Clubhouse. However, all conversations within this service are recorded. Stamos’ company has determined that the Clubhouse is using the facilities of Agora, a company registered in Shanghai, China, for background operations. Data and audio streams are processed through Agora. The Clubhouse itself is responsible for using the service: finding friends and finding suitable rooms where conversations take place.
Recall that Clubhouse gained wide popularity in February this year. The platform positions itself as an audio messaging service. The platform also enables users to communicate within “rooms” to which listeners can join. In the discussions of the social network, in particular, the billionaire Elon Musk took part.
Earlier, “Strana” wrote which of the famous Ukrainians has already registered in the newfangled social network.
