Johnson called the conditions for lifting restrictive measures in Britain | News | News

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson named the conditions necessary for the gradual lifting of restrictive measures in force in the kingdom. The statement was circulated on February 21 by the office of the head of the British government.

Since January 4, a national lockdown has been introduced in the kingdom due to the spread of the coronavirus. At the same time, the government did not rule out that the quarantine could be extended until the end of March.

“We have identified four key conditions that will need to be met at each stage of the plan’s implementation,” Johnson said.

So, according to him, successful vaccination of the population and the emergence of data on a decrease in mortality and an increase in new cases of COVID-19 will be crucial for lifting restrictions in the UK.

In addition, the reason for easing the quarantine regime will be the absence of a threat to overload the health care system of the kingdom, as well as control over the situation with the spread of new strains of coronavirus infection.

On February 16, it became known that a new coronavirus mutation was discovered in the UK, which has already spread in a total of 10 countries.

On the same day, experts from the Advisory Group on New and Emerging Respiratory Viruses (NERVTAG) confirmed that the “British” strain of coronavirus discovered in December is more dangerous than the original form of SARS-CoV-2.

At the same time, a number of cases of the South African strain of COVID-19 were recorded in England in February in people who did not visit South Africa and did not contact tourists who visited the republic.
