According to Iran’s Tesnim News Agency, President of the Central Bank of Iran Abdunnasir Himmeti and South Korea’s Ambassador to Iran Ryu Jeong-Hyun held a meeting about the said reserves in the capital Tehran.
At the meeting, which was held at the request of the Iranian Embassy of South Korea, it was stated that an agreement was reached on the transfer and use of some of the blocked foreign exchange reserves of Iran.
It was also noted that the Iranian side notified the South Korean side of the amount of foreign currency to be used and the banks to be transferred.
Stating that he welcomed the change of attitude in the Seoul administration, Himmeti said, “The South Korean side should make great efforts to eliminate this negative record.” used the expression.
South Korea’s Ambassador to Iran, Ryu Jeong-Hyun, stated that his country is ready to take the necessary steps to use all Iranian resources.
Iran cannot use its financial assets in South Korea and various countries because they are blocked due to US sanctions.
