A very strange case happened in Edinburgh.
A 27-year-old Scottish woman pleaded guilty to bodily harm in a “very strange case” described by her lawyer in August 2019 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the local press reported. Bethaney Ryan for he bitten off a piece of a man’s tongue, which was then picked up by a seagull and flown with it.
The prosecutor told the court that Ryan and his victim, James McKenzie they didn’t know each other at all when they ran into each other on the street around eight in the evening and “talked together”. They did not say what the dispute was between the two of them.
She tried to walk away, but he was still aggressive and walked towards the woman with a clenched fist, who then kissed her on the mouth. Then, in the meantime, he bit into the man’s tongue and tore a larger, two-centimeter-three-centimeter piece out of it.
McKenzie then stepped away, according to the prosecutor, and spat out a piece of his tongue on the ground, then a large seagull flew over, picked it up, and flew away with it.
The man, whose blood was spilled from his mouth, was taken to hospital after the incident, where his injury was treated. It didn’t have to be operated on because the bitten piece wasn’t there and so there was nothing to sew back on.
Ryan was arrested and pleaded guilty at a trial on Thursday the previous week. The size of his sentence will be decided later.
