A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged last week in the United States for the murder of his parents.
He was arrested on February 9. Nicholas Alexander Johnson, 27, is accused of killing his parents, Gary Johnson, 65, and Laura Johnson, 64, hours before his arraignment. The two were discovered lifeless in the woods near their home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Detroit Free Press reports that the suspect was discovered hiding in a storage container in his building and had taken his parents’ car with him. He was charged with murder and possession of a weapon.
The couple were reported missing on February 3 after they failed to report to work. The police then noted signs of violence at their home, but failed to find them. It was finally on February 12 that the two corpses were discovered thanks to a sniffer dog. The causes of their deaths have not yet been revealed and the police have not disclosed a possible motive for the crime.
According to relatives, however, the young man’s behavior had started to change in recent years, becoming more and more aggressive, to the point that his parents had obtained a restraining order against him. In particular, he had broken into their home.
“From the moment I learned that they were gone… even though I wanted to think otherwise, the rational part in me quickly realized that it would have such an outcome. Nothing is unexpected, it is not wanted, but it is not unexpected, “Gary Johnson’s brother told MLive.com. Nicholas Alexander Johnson is also involved in another case of the disappearance of a young man dating from May 2018.
