The theater “Na Liteynom” announced on its page in the “VKontakte” network about the death of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhdanov at the age of 71.
Alexander Zhdanov graduated from the acting class of the pop department of the music school at the Leningrad Conservatory in 1974 and since 1976 he served at the Theater of Drama and Comedy (now the Theater on Liteiny), where he played many roles.
Zhdanov became famous in the cinema. Many still remember him from the film “The Tobacco Captain”, where the 21-year-old actor played Fimka, the servant of the noblewoman Svinina. In the film “The Last Summer of Childhood”, which is a continuation of “Dirk” and “Bronze Bird”, Zhdanov played the matured Genka Petrov. “Each spectator will remember his Alexander Zhdanov. He never repeated himself, skillfully introduced notes of improvisation, not destroying, but even more elevating the living Art of the theater,” the obituary says.
The theater noted that now it is impossible to imagine how to do without the sparkling tales that the actor told, without his incomparable sense of humor.
