Israeli authorities have closed beaches in the Mediterranean. All because of the resin spill, because the liquid reached the shoreline. As a result, many marine life was lost.
Israelis were even urged to stay away from the coast. The beaches from Rosh Hashanah in the north, on the border with Lebanon to Zikim near the Gaza Strip in the south, have been closed.

However, thousands of citizens still came to the shoreline to help eliminate the spill. In result some people were hospitalized due to inhalation of toxic fumes.
Now the military will be involved in the liquidation of the catastrophe.
Why the resin spilled
The cause of the resin spill is currently unknown. Earlier, 50 kilometers from the shore found an oil spill into the sea. It is estimated that one of the 10 vessels that visited the area may be responsible.

The spill has already killed many sea creatures. A dead whale’s body was even dumped on the shores of Israel. Officials have already called it the worst environmental disaster in Israel in recent years.
