The AEOI and the IAEA have also reached a bilateral technical agreement that will be in line with the requirements of Iranian law suspending the use of the Additional Protocol to the Iranian Safeguards Agreement with the IAEA.
It will enter into force on 23 February and allow the IAEA to continue the necessary verification and monitoring for up to three months.
Rafael Grossi visited Tehran on February 20 and 21 to discuss further development of cooperation with the AEOI regarding inspections at Iranian nuclear facilities under the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA).
The visit came after Iran informed the IAEA about the implementation of the law on ending IAEA emergency inspections in Iranian nuclear facilities from February 23.
