Border crossing rules change in Poland
To cross the border, starting next week, you will need to present a negative test certificate for coronavirus.
The Polish authorities are planning from next week to introduce a requirement for presenting a negative result for coronavirus when entering the country at all borders. This was announced on Monday, February 22, by the Minister of Health of the Republic, Adam Nedzelsky, on the air of the TVN24 channel.
“We are thinking to do this this week. We want to finalize the rules, details, services must prepare, because this will mean a return to the activities of the border guard,” he said.
“The Border Guard says that it needs at least 48 hours to reach operational readiness at individual border points. Therefore, I think that this will happen by the end of the week,” the minister said, stressing that the test will be checked both at the western and on the southern borders of the republic.
According to him, in the absence of a test, a citizen entering the republic will go to isolation for 10 days.
At the same time, those who have already been vaccinated against coronavirus and a number of professional categories will be exempted from quarantine: diplomats, fishermen, sailors, truck drivers, doctors, as well as students and participants in sports events.
We will remind, last week in the Ministry of Health of Poland said that it is already the third wave of coronavirus.
Earlier it became known that in Poland about 10% of all infections occur in the British strain of COVID-19. It is more contagious than the regular coronavirus. Moreover, the first case of this strain in Poland was confirmed on January 21.
