Videos are shared on Douyin, version TikTok On February 13, via Fu Fu’s account, a short-haired British-like cat was captured with tears in memory of its owner.
According to the owner of Fu Fu cat, Ms. Meng, during the Lunar New Year holiday, she went to her parents’ home in Xuzhou and was unable to bring her pets.
In the video viewers can hear Ms. Meng telling the cat, “Does the kitten remember me? I’ll be back in a few days.”
When Meng chatted with the kitten through the app, hearing the mistress’s voice, she turned to the door as if waiting for Meng to appear. But when he didn’t see Meng, he turned to look at the camera with tears in his eyes.
“It hurt me to see this,” confessed Ms. Meng. “I was planning to stay at my parents’ house for another week, but then decided to return to Xuzhou earlier,” she said.
The 17-second video after being shared went viral on social networking platforms, becoming a hot topic. The video attracted hundreds of millions of views and tens of thousands of comments.
Some newspaper sites like Dailymail for posting the video and calling Fu Fu the hottest lonely cat on Chinese social networks.
In a short video shared by Ms. Meng later, the cat was seen excitedly rushing towards her owner when she returned home.
Some netizens are worried about Fu Fu because the cat’s tears could be a sign of some illnesses such as an eye infection or a blocked tear duct. However, Ms. Meng asserted that Fu Fu is completely healthy and often behaves like that when worried or hungry.
