Greece now knocked on Saudi Arabia’s door


After breaking the geopolitical fault lines in the eastern Mediterranean Greece, on the other hand its allies on the one hand while participating in the joint NATO military exercise with Turkey, the US and Saudi Arabia is taking new steps.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias announced that the Athens and Riyadh administrations will sign an agreement for the purchase of Patriot missile defense batteries held by Saudi Arabia.

The Greek media wrote that Dendias would soon fly to Riyadh and that the agreement would be signed. According to reports, the Patriot transfer came to the fore during Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Ferhan’s visit to Athens.

Because of the pandemic, the parties did not take a step, but at the Philia Forum (Friendship Forum) on February 11, Saudi Minister Ferhan once again came to Athens to discuss the missiles with his counterpart Dendias. 40 Greek officials will go to Saudi Arabia for US-produced Patriot batteries with a range of 150 kilometers. Riyadh administration is not expected to announce how much the missiles will be sold for.
