Turkey in recent years is the increase in emigration of young and educated population have been observed. It was stated that citizens between the ages of 25-29 were among the most immigrants abroad in 2019.
In the study prepared by CHP Istanbul Deputy Zeynel Emre and party members, it was pointed out that brain drain is the most serious issue of competition between countries and determines the development levels and continuity of countries.

In this context, one of the topics where the competition in the international arena is sharpened is the young and educated population defined as ‘brain drain’. It is a known fact that especially developed western countries with elderly populations prefer to supply their educated young population from underdeveloped and developing countries. According to the research; Sweden, Germany, USA, Norway and Canada are the countries with the highest number of brain drain in the world. The common feature of these countries is to have higher education institutions at international level and to provide job opportunities. The prominent ones among the brain drain are developing or undeveloped countries, including us. It is noted that our country ranks 24th among 32 countries with the highest brain drain. The results of another research are; Turkey’s shows that most students read the 10th country in the United States.
YOUNG PEOPLE ESCAPE
