Since Monday, February 8th, a test has been mandatory when entering Switzerland by plane. Only those who can show a negative corona test are allowed to enter. In addition to the mandatory testing, there is a ten-day quarantine obligation. Which you can leave with another negative test after seven days. The quarantine obligation only applies to countries on the risk list of the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG).
The BAG is now updating the risk list. The list is effective from February 22nd. Among other things, Albania and Serbia are newly represented on it. In return, Cyprus can get off the list again.
The list is also given a new name. The quarantine list is now to be called the BAG list of risk countries, as the BAG itself writes.
Infections in Switzerland are decisive
All countries are on the list with more than 60 infections above the number of infections per hundred thousand inhabitants that are valid in Switzerland. Switzerland currently has 217 infections per hundred thousand inhabitants. Accordingly, all countries with 277 or more infections are on the list.
The number of infections has decreased in the last two weeks. Therefore, more countries are coming back on the quarantine list.
Rules abroad
The neighboring countries of Switzerland are also affected. In France in particular, it affects numerous regions. In return, the state of Saxony in Germany and the Veneto region in Italy are coming down from the list again.
Here you can find the current travel restrictions in holiday countries. And the worldwide entry requirements.
