Salos by mistake for Cyprus from Psychogios publications:

Reactions have been provoked on the internet in the last 24 hours by photos of a publication on geography from Psychogios publications which stated that the northern part of Cyprus belongs to Turkey.

Specifically, this is the publication: “I learn and I explore: H. Europe»Which deals with the Old Continent and gives information to young children about the countries and parts of Europe. In fact, the children are then asked to complete a relevant puzzle.

However, as noted by many, who subsequently extended the issue via Facebook, the report on Cyprus stated that “Cyprus is a Mediterranean island and its northern part belongs to Turkeya”.

This provoked the reaction of internet users who called on the publishing company to recall since this publication is addressed to children and who were taught in this way that the illegal occupation of half of Cyprus by Turkey which is a result of the Invasion, is legalized.

The issue finally provoked the response from the “Psychogios publications” which with their announcement on Facebook inform that the specific edition is withdrawn immediately from the market.

In fact, as they report, they regret the specific event and attribute it to the translator’s mistake. They emphasize that “Obviously, the occupied territories cannot be translated as ‘belonging’ to Turkey.”The specific version was even “downloaded” directly from the company’s website.

The whole announcement from Psychogios publications:

Dear readers, we are very sorry for the mistake in our publication “I am learning and exploring: Europe” and we are withdrawing it from the market by proceeding with correction and reprinting.

Obviously, the occupied territories can not be translated as “belonging” to Turkey.
Obviously, the translator’s mistake should not have escaped our curator either.
We have published many titles about our Cyprus and we understand the magnitude of the mistake, especially in a children’s edition that passes messages to our children.

We apologize again and declare that the product was downloaded from our site and from tomorrow it will be withdrawn from the entire market.

Yours sincerely,
Psychogios Publications
