Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha escaped death in an assassination attempt on him that took place on February 21 on the highway in the capital Tripoli, according to the AP.

The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, later condemned the attack on Bashagha, calling on Libyan officials to investigate the people behind the incident.
