However, it may happen that without having all your data or without your real data, we will not be able to provide you with all the services we offer and fulfill all obligations set out in the regulations of the daily journal.pl website (e.g. to provide you with adequate security. regarding the recovery of access data to the account).
Purpose of processing personal data
The main purpose of processing your data by us is to provide you with full functionality of the journalwschodni.pl website, access to the services provided by us as part of this website, ensure your safety when using the website (e.g. in the event of fraud attempts) and our compliance with contractual obligations resulting from the regulations of the Dziennikwschodni.pl portal.
The additional purpose of personal data processing is the so-called own marketing, i.e. data processing only for our internal needs for analytical, research and statistical purposes, in particular by striving to adapt the content displayed on our websites to your preferences and interests as fully as possible.
In addition, if you give your consent, we will be able to process your personal data for marketing purposes (external marketing), including transferring your data to entities cooperating with us – advertising agencies and our business partners. Remember that consent to the processing of your data for marketing purposes is completely voluntary and you can withdraw it at any time.
Remember also that if you are a minor who is under the age of 16, sending information for marketing purposes may only take place after the consent of your parent or guardian.
Legal grounds for data processing
Your personal data may be processed only in accordance with the legal bases specified in the currently applicable provisions. Depending on the purpose of data processing, we can distinguish three main legal bases for data processing.
The first basis for data processing is the necessity to perform contracts for the provision of services. We deal with it when data processing is necessary to provide you with efficient and safe use of our website with all its functionalities. Contracts for the provision of services are regulations, including the regulations of the daily newspaper Dziennikwschodni.pl, which you accept when you decide to use our website.
The second basis for data processing is the legitimate interest of the data controller. We deal with it in the case of conducting statistical measurements and activities in the field of own marketing by the data controller.
Finally, the third prerequisite for data processing is your free and informed consent. On its basis, your data may be used for marketing purposes as well as for profiling.
Remember, you give your consent entirely voluntarily. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. However, the withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of the processing which was carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.
Entities to which we can transfer data
As a rule, your personal data will only be used by us for our own use.
In certain situations, however, we may transfer your data to entities cooperating with us: – our business partners, subcontractors of the services we offer, marketing agencies.
In addition, in cases strictly specified in law, we will be obliged to provide your data to entities authorized to obtain it on the basis of currently applicable law (e.g. the police or the prosecutor’s office), provided, of course, that they make such a request to us, referring to a specific legal basis.
Data storage period
Your personal data will be stored as long as it is necessary to provide you with access to the services offered by the www.dziennikwchodni.pl website. Of course, you can submit an application at any time to stop processing your personal data, change or delete it.
Information on the rights of the data subject
You must know that regardless of the basis on which we process your data, you always have the right to access and correct it. You can also request their removal at any time or withdraw or limit the consent previously given to the processing of personal data, while the withdrawal of the consent does not affect the data controller for the processing of data for the purpose specified in the consent until it is withdrawn.
You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
You can also request the personal data administrator to transfer your data or obtain a copy of your data, with the proviso that this right may not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of other people. The data administrator will fulfill your requests in terms of the technical possibilities available.
Information on the right to file a complaint
The supervisory body over the administrator of personal data is the General Inspector of Personal Data, to which you have the right to lodge a complaint each time your data is processed in a manner, in your opinion, incorrect.
Information on whether the provision of data is a statutory or contractual requirement or you are required to provide it
You are not obliged to provide us with your personal data or consent to their processing, with the reservation, however, that providing them may be necessary to use certain website functionalities.
It is also possible that if you do not consent to the processing of personal data or withdraw your consent, we will not be able to provide you with access to some of the services we offer, and you will always be informed about this in such a case.
Information on profiling
What is profiling? It is the collection of all information that allows the direct or indirect identification of the person subject to profiling. Profiling is most often carried out with the use of information systems, in an automated manner, with the use of special algorithms taking into account predetermined criteria. Profiling results can be used, among others for marketing purposes, e.g. to personalize the advertisement targeted at a given user or to prepare an offer that takes into account his needs or preferences.
We declare that we are not currently profiling your data. However, if we start, you will be informed in advance and have the right not to consent.
